Dr. Dennis Gray was the manager of the field station for more than 25 years before his retirement in 2017.  His primary research interest was nutrient dynamics in forest soils. He conducted field and greenhouse studies investigating the effects of disturbance on soils and plant communities. Previously, Dennis worked as an analytical chemist and as a field biologist for environmental consulting firms. He has a wide range of experience with eastern United States ecology, flora and fauna and 20+ years of experience as an analytical chemist. He taught a number classes both at Rutgers-Camden (e.g. General Ecology, Plant Ecology) and at the field station (e.g. Field Ecology, Analytical Methods in Environmental Studies).
